This vanishing world a bluff
I want to swallow its fluff
morrows’ candy threads subtle
that I hear in leaves rustle

Let them glue me loving pink
let the colour slowly sink
into my eternal blue
of rainbows’ beginning hue

This dead world darkness grading
I touch and feel it fading
before it escapes my reach
into Oblivion they preach

Deep within my soul measures
I want to lock its treasures
relish them within my chest
quiet with them all unrest

The throbbing stillness so steep
lies wake in me through night’s sleep
slumber’s breath in me serene
keeps the thoughts in me pristine

Seventh aquarelle : Cherry blossom tree branch

I am back to my initial challenge of 10 aquarelles and have taken as subject a cherry blossom branch given the recent synchronicity on cherry trees. This time I combined alla prima type of painting with wet on dry painting.

 

It occurred to me that just looking at pink made me cheerful. Perhaps that is where the French saying « voir le monde avec des lunettes roses » (meaning looking at the world with rose-coloured glasses) comes from  🙂

 

I hope you will enjoy the painting and the typical song I thought would accompany it well.

Woven in the skin

Define me

Pink contours

The flash seen without detours

As the heat rises

 

Still glances

As the ship glides on

The icebergs

Illusion

Above and below now bound

The law of fusion

 

Hot and cold

Term me dynamics

Balance point

Zero stance

Two heads one bodied soul joint

As the wizards dance

 

Dead freedom

Measures of the sleep

Company

False we keep

Lulling us into the fields

Where orphans will weep

 

Writhing frames

The wilting will slain

Our bodies

Fallen stars

Mummies preserved where we’d lain

Tucked into the folds

 

Death akin

To ecstasies’ flames

Subtle grounds

My mind hounds

Unfolding mysteries spin

A blue heart to win

Vivid remainders

Hues of pink

Deep purple

Like blemish on a new wound

Opening shut books

 

Remembrance

More than just good looks

Charisma

Solemn words

Something beyond the dead herds

Grazing in the blue

 

I found you

The day we lost us

Useless fuss

Swears and cuss

Light headed memories cut

Edge of my language

 

The child’s words

Simplicity’s speech

Narrate best

The lost quest

Of the fruit we kept but zest

Our hands sharpened knives

 

The people

They rub hard the lives

Into stones

Brittle bones

Ground with more than intention

Fleecing redemption

 

Remember

Mending takes strong threads

More than heads

It is hearts

That excel in crafts and arts
