Inky Blue
19 August 2016

She sank into the waters which enveloped her, soothing and relaxing her tense muscles. The breath seeped easily out of her mouth as she welcomed the pitch black surroundings.
This was her ninth trial now to seep into nothingness. She yearned for that.
The mind always won though with its fight for survival.
She always resurfaced spluttering between relief and grief for not having overcome the resistance.
The moon resplendent celebrated her defeat once again. Once again it played upon the surface in the distance as she gathered her clothes she had left upon the shore.
She looked at that other spot where the moon was playing with the waves. It seemed like the perfect spot, far out into the sea though without the rock cover
Next month she thought to herself as she put her clothes slowly back on shivering despite the heat. Next month she would try again when the moon was high and the watchers were low.
To sink, to sink into that bottomless ink.
