A figure so slight
a toe out of dainty shoes
Fleeting outlines blurred

A dash of sulphur
sinuous lines on her brow
a frontier defined

Exploring unknown
tuning into the channel
seizing vast landscapes

Limits extended
choice to heed fluttering ribs
Pinnacle of life

Throbbing subsiding
contours of the world fading
move into nothing

On the edge of death
the Queen handed back the heart

Twined cause and effect

Common inquiry
A probe into grey matter
Symptom of the quest

Pillars of queries
Symbols of the need to know
A trace of lives lived

Myriads of half-truths
Sign of the times etched in blood
Reality blurred

Picking up the clues
Omen of a time gone by
Skies high in bosom

She survived inquests
Her mind a token of light

Quiet times restored
31 March 2021

She jumped suddenly
from the comfort of the couch
wisps of hair flaring

The couch burst alit
Once an abode of pleasure
it now spouted flames

Her hair gushed red streaks
The warmth at her temples hurled
sinister designs

All contentment gone
her face erupted fury
as eyebrows belched fire

Blankets of water
trickled down path of relief
on flanks that spewed rain

Quiet times restored
her throat emitted strange notes
she regained her poise

Dwindling spot of light
sinking in the skies
Ebb of the sun’s rays
  
Wane moon rises high
Dribble of silver oozing
a stream runs through night
  
Reflux of the breeze
Bubbles of air in river
Flow of the current
  
Three weave the stories
Their fingers points of flux gush
with oncoming rush
  
The stars now retreat
The winds drop on rising tides
The throngs flood the gates
  
Drift in the bees’ hive
A goodbye to royalty
stages in decay

a pathway to fixing scores

First light restored sight

 of bleak landscapes of the mind
 frozen in the core
  
 Crisp thoughts of morrows
 numbing the flow of heartbeats
 biting raw of flesh
  
 Icy winds swept fast
 through the ebb and flow of time
 They spelt love’s decline
  
 Cool winter mornings
 Chill of a frosty sunshine
 dawned upon our souls
  
 A dip into hope
 Drops of wonder cut through doubt
 A dive into faith
  
 Your hands are so cold
 Warm them upon my bosom

Wet grass tickled feet

 Children of morrows;
 their cries ringing everywhere
 soaking Earth purple
  
 Foggy landscapes met
 teary eye saturated
 with pains of fledglings
  
 Stormy weather formed
 flower of life in my chest 
 that drenched my heart red
  
 Pouring rain renewed
 hope in another Earth’s rise
 The bud of my thoughts
  
 Petals bloomed in mind
 blossoms of tomorrow’s world
 that dewy drops spelt
  
 Misty skies breathed soft
 whispers of promises kept

Dewdrops in the air

Pearls scattering on my face

the first of the rains

Heads hung low they weep

Zoroastrian filters

drizzle through their plight

Drop by drop gathers

weight of a hundred stones cast

millenary fate

Maidens in tatters

their backs particles of flesh

sprinkled across choice

A dash of freedom

drips through time that seeps in age

beads of silver pain

A splash in the pond

Murky waters now stirring

The waters flowed calm

The elements raged

Pelting rain tore at my cheeks

The storm’s pace quickened

A raven called hoarse

a mild reminder of death

beak lost in twister

Rising in the skies

Gusts of wind shook free my frame

I recounted time

A single line drawn

across my heaving chest’s throb

The tempest, silenced

Soothing thoughts surfaced

As hurricane receded

into oblivion

The waters flowed calm

Monsoon surge a memory

Its downpour wasted
