Down goes the hammer – Dark Cabaret, Dark Cinematic, Trip Hop Versions | Song created with Suno (my lyrics, my voice)
31 August 2026
A woman with flakes of ice all over her face and shoulders looking at herself in a very large mirror where we see her full face. The part outside the mirror has only her profile. There are red cherries adorning her hair. We cannot see the mirror because everything is black apart from her silhouette. She looks sad

## 🧠 ABOUT THE PROCESS

I transformed my original poem by adapting it into lyrics that were then used for a song generated using Suno, featuring my voice. Below you’ll find part of the original poem, the revised lyrics, and the musical version.

## 📜 ORIGINAL POEM

Down Goes the Hammer moves through a playful landscape of Eden, magic, Alice, fairies and golden dreams, while quieter tensions stir beneath its fantastical surface. Through wordplay, shifting identities and veiled allusions, the poem explores the boundaries drawn around thought, expression, belonging and possession—and the ways we preserve an inner freedom when the world seeks to define its limits. When the hammer finally falls, the journey continues: precarious and painful perhaps, but still carrying hope across the thin ice.

Contrive me
With thoughts of Eden
We frolic
In gardens
Of our own twined creation
Mind’s alienation

## ✍️ ADAPTED LYRICS

[Verse]
Contrive me with thoughts of Eden
We frolic carefree in gardens
made of our own twined creation
to deter Mind’s alienation

[Verse]
Conjure me through work of magic
Build our bodies shrines ecstatic
Playful lines said in Candlelight
Fill me up with the soul’s delight

[Verse]
Contour me, read my forms like braille
Let your hair down, have Thoughts derail
I will be your most favoured clown
Play pantomime’s spree, string me down

[Verse]
Demure me, I bow down quite low
In me pale Alice speaks so slow
Of once strong, now fading rabbit
My Demeanour a Meek habit

Down goes the hammer

[Verse]
Endure me, I have words and puns
From pamphlets locked in pink-clad suns
How they sink, oh my how they sink,
disappear in forgotten ink

[Verse]
Inure me, build my heart’s chambers
Marble halls filled dance of flowers
for fairies to prance with spring’s walls
Emotion of the wild that calls

[Verse]
Secure me a shoulder’s warm strength
Of age-old stories show me length
Woven in the sun-kissed threads gleam
of lost golden fleece hidden dream

[Verse]
Tenure me, nothing has a price
Tag I’m it, you can say it thrice
Ownership old, all is for rent
Down goes the hammer, my life spent

[Verse]
Whole nine yards, excruciating
Siren’s wake, the legs fake, shaking
The thin needles speak agony
walking on thin ice, hope carry

Tumble down

Rabbit holes looming

They stir mind

Oust control

Flowers in soul are blooming

As we spin through Time

Half-wit clown

A jester of tides

He partakes

In free rides

By rules of lost land abides

Humming through my rhyme

Come meltdown

Of systems deplete

We will eat

Will replete

Engorgement way to defeat

Ringing of the chime

Two to share

Burden of knowledge

When hearts drift

In mind rift

Abundance not in spendthrift

Meaningful places

Attention

Span ordinary

Woollen gloves

For the doves

The spells chanting what he loves

Builder of flurry

Three to keep

The slope winding deep

Into grounds

Life abounds

Solitary mind resounds

Flesh of Heart weighs pounds

Four ensnare

Fates of lines we share

Mind of hare

Brittle bare

In the fields of wilderness

Rabbits left out care

Five to weep

Sand twixt toes doth seep

Time to sway

Games at play

Winners sheltered gone astray

Needle in the hay

Six to count

Up down paramount

Silk mitten

For the kitten

Spinning wheel we now recount

Happy days remount

Out of hats

Birthed the best rabbits

To follow

Trees’ hollow

The tumbling an experience

Otherworldly tales

The mind fails

When seeking lessons

In solemn

Straight-faced chalk

Classrooms for chicken that baulk

From the screeching hens

Lions dens

The cubs profuse meat

Feast to beat

Flesh and blood

Souls carry within the flood

Of the hearts matters

Ink splatters

From rooftops that leak

Dead that speak

Through my tongue

Dangling from heavens now wrung

Their bodies my kite

Bitter fight

Before birth in light

I let go

The failed care

The threads that tie slowly tear

Balloons now lift off

Weak hearts scoff

The mighty forgive

No Malice

In my hand

Alice did wondrously land

In the none sense band

Mother now shuddered

Her great body awaking

The deepest Thunders

Heart to Heart relates

In between the neutrinos

That play in the gaps

As the core opened

Heart’s path shifted further out

Where the Red met Blue

The frozen boiled

Kettles left unattended

Spilled the teas’ fresh leaves

Hatter and I drank

He adjusted my bow tie

Borrowed from rabbit

I kept key to door

Inside the waistcoat’s pocket

Lost it in flurry

We raced towards end

Pedalling backwards moved not

Keep Heart in stillness

Mother spoke solace

Out of a bottomless well

While sun blazed in sky

Deserts sands lifted

Tidal wave swept across skies

Kissing us goodbye

The pull and the push

Shifted more than my backbone

The Time ne’er came back

When the shift caused quakes

Mother skipped through old doorways

Calming Heart’s tremors

I reached for your Hand

Your hands were cold I knew then

Valleys of ice wept
