Hold the door
Its old hinges creak
Of lost time
They dare speak
Of slow walks in the moonlight
Of hope cloaked in sight
Hold the door
It tries to snap shut
Locking hurt
Deep within
Crushing rose petals that bloom
When sunlight drizzles
Hold the door
It closes in tight
Reducing
Space of love
The chest caves in under might
Pressure of sorrow
Hold the door
It cuts through answers
To Questions
Lost inking
Connection’s tendrils sinking
Communication
Hold the door
It would allow us
To glimpse light
Sea beyond
The nature of you and me
Sketched in wilderness
Hold the door
It is like coffin
Embalming
Pervading
