## 🧠 ABOUT THE PROCESS

I transformed my original poem by adapting it into lyrics that were then used for a song generated using Suno, featuring my voice. Below you’ll find part of the original poem, the revised lyrics, and the musical version.

## 📜 ORIGINAL POEM

An exploration of grief, vulnerability, and the invisible barriers built by past wounds, "Hold the Door" follows the struggle between self-protection and connection. As old hurts threaten to seal the heart shut like a coffin, the song invites us to resist closure, to keep a narrow opening through which hope, understanding, and love may still pass.

Hold the door
Its old hinges creak
Of lost time
They dare speak
Of slow walks in the moonlight
Of hope cloaked in sight

## ✍️ ADAPTED LYRICS

[Verse]
Hold the door, its old hinges creak
Of the lost time they dare not speak
Of the slow walks in the moonlight
Of yesterday’s hope cloaked in sight

[Verse]
Hold the door, it tries to snap shut
Locking hurt deep within sharp cut
Crushing rose petals that bloom spread
when sunlight drizzles on their head

[Verse]
Hold the door, it closes in tight
The chest caves in under its might
The deadly pressure of sorrow
reducing space of love borrowed

[Chorus]
Hold the door, it is like coffin
Embalming, pervading within
Breathe, lest you live as I would die
Motionless, empty, not a sigh

[Verse]
Hold the door, it cuts through answers
to questions on unheard matters
Communication lost inking
Connection’s tendrils now sinking

[Verse]
Hold the door, it would allow us
to glimpse light, find beyond the muss
the true nature of you and me
sketched in the wilderness to see

[Chorus]
Hold the door, it is like coffin
Embalming, pervading within
Breathe, lest you live as I would die
Motionless, empty, not a sigh
