Leaves scattered free

From a volume of yellow

Untainted by pale death

As they fell out of oblivion

Haunting eerie melody

Played in my soul’s cage

By an invisible shepherd

As he beckons to the rise

Stillness springs to action

Unwinds what lay frozen

In the heart of darkness

A ray of blissful light flies

Shining through the void

A memory pierces through

Cutting the veil of shadow

Cast on our fear-clad souls

Slowly figures stir to dance

On the path of remembrance

A freedom long forgotten

Is at more than a second play

Souls’ fingers strive reaching

To a code of intricate Braille

Reading the forgotten lines

As a memory box unravels

Spellbound

Weary was the travel

Dark worked its wonder

Spinning the wheel

Of timeless rotation

An instant of confusion

As clocks whirled back

Racing across the fields

Of inner and outer space

The night brimmed up

With dark brooding skies

Born out of grey nothingness

A chill of unknown quiet

And when the clouds parted

A silver streak gleamed

Soothing, mesmerizing rays

Of a full blossom moon

The shadows then departed

Freefall into the sleepy night

In the distance, a dog howled

And I spread my wings alone
