## 🧠 ABOUT THE PROCESS
I went to a weekend of Arhatic Yoga preparatory weekend and was reminded of this beautiful prayer mistakenly attributed to Saint Francis of Assisi. In reality according to Wikipedia, the prayer was in French and published in a small spiritual magazine called La Clochette (The Little Bell) by a Catholic organisation in Paris called La Ligue de la Sainte-Messe (The League of the Holy Mass). The author's name was not given, although it may have been the founder of La Ligue, Father Esther Bouquerel. The prayer reminded me of how much the world needs these words at this time so I thought I should pause the project of transforming my own poetry into songs and make this a song for people who follow me on youtube to hear and enjoy. Unlike what I do with my poetry, I will not modify the words and stay faithful to the intent of Saint Francis for the French version. The English version needed, however, to be slightly changed because of certain limitations in Suno but it stays close to the translation of the French prayer. The so-called Prayer of Saint Francis of Assisi is slightly different from the French prayer and also truncates a part of it.
The translated English prayer: [Verse] Oh Lord, would you make me a tool of your peace; Wherever hatred exists, let me sow love. Wherever injury exists, let me sow pardon. Wherever discord exists, let me sow unity. Wherever error exists, let me sow truth. Wherever doubt exists, let me sow faith. Wherever despair exists, let me instil hope. Wherever darkness dwells, let me shine your light. Wherever sadness exists, let me sow joy.
[Verse] O Lord, let me not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love; for it is in giving that we receive; it is in forgetting ourselves that we find; it is in forgiving that we are forgiven; It is in dying that we are resurrected to eternal life.
