A friend told me recently something along the lines of “u r the trigger happy kinds, who goes viral and blogs instantly. No?” and I thought to myself “yes, and so what”. I had decided almost 4 years ago that I would never cover up but rather share. At the end of the day what is hidden is what encourages corruption, rotting like a purulent sore in the midst of your mind and body.
To all who wonder why I share real-life experiences (safe some things which cannot be shared for legal reasons as I learnt later), I have to say that my position has not changed from that day, almost four years ago. I wish all women would dare share, speak up, for themselves and for others that they sometimes have to speak up for. Women, never cover-up. Speak your mind, speak your truth. We have nothing to be ashamed of. For every injustice that is committed against you, for ever wrongdoing that you have to undergo, do not take it silently. It is society who should be ashamed if anything untoward befalls you, not you. Be brave, be pure of heart, nothing not even the most defiling acts can take your purity of heart, your self-respect and your dignity if you do not allow it to happen.
Be brave, be true to yourself and not to what others expect of you. Be YOU in all your glory <3
